What are Yantras ?
Vedic Yantras are geometrical figures intended to represent the basic energies. Just as every elementary geometrical figure, a straight line, a square, a cross or a triangle etc, has a symbolic value corresponding to the basic notions, similarly, the Yantras symbolize one or the other power or energy. In other words Vedic Yantras are the graphic representations of Mantras. Yantras can be drawn, engraved or painted on a variety of substances.
The classical eight-tantrik surfaces are gold, silver, copper, crystal, birch, bone, hide (which can include any type of paper), and Vishnu stone (shalagrama).
Yantras should always be used on the level. If drawn on paper the colors preferable are red, orange, yellow or a combination of these. They can be drawn to whatever size is required. The two main types of yantras are Bhu and Meru. The former is flat, two dimensional, the latter is of pyramidal form. In worship they should be placed level on a pedestal or pitha. Before any yantra is made a suitable object for puja, it must be given life (pranapratishta).
The Vedic Yantras are designed to remove the afflictions to obtain a particular result eg. to have a child, to have a positive balance in the bank, or to have the awareness to control one's temper in order to enhance one's performance at work etc. The Yantras are inscribed with the mystical inscriptions of the afflicted beneficial planets at a particularly auspicious time to suit the individual wearer. The diagrams such as circles, triangles, squares and even a 'dot' are used as Yantras. All these represent cosmic energies. A dot known as bindu in Sanskrit symbolizes all pervading space-the origin of all that exist
Types of Yantras
There are different types of Yantras for different purposes. They can help you to attain success in your business, bring the person under your control, and bring wealth and prosperity to you. The Yantras have to be purified and energized before using it. Yantras energized during the nights of Maha Shivratri, Holi and Diwali are most effective and powerful. Normally the related Mantras are also chanted in the presence of the Yantras for quick results
Yantras are usually used for counteracting the harmful effects of planets. Besides countering negative effects, Yantras also increase the planets' beneficial aspects in our lives. Yantras and mantras are connected together since each Yantra has a corresponding mantra. The yantras are also representative of different deities. According to Ayurveda, there is also a definite relationship between Vedic talisman and the elements of Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether.
By proper prayers and perfect recitation of specific mantras, the material elements can be invoked to move in the way desired by the worshiper. This is not magic but a highly evolved and developed science for exercising some control in this regard.
The yantras are of different types there are Pooja Yantra - Yantras which are used for worship and generally used in temples, then there are yantras specific to each and every diety like Durga, Ganpati and so on. There are also yantras for specific purposes like protection from disease, house, from enemy and so on. There are planetary yantras also like the numerical as well as the deity ones. The yantras need to be activated by mantras and prayers specific to that deity or planet.
The yantras are not very expensive, The yantras made in gold are the most expensive. The yantras are much more cheaper than gemstones and can be as effective as gems, if used with mantras and possess no side effects. There is a whole new world out there waiting to be explored and yantras are the doorway to that cosmic universe.
How does it Works
At the basis of yantra operation is something called "shape energy" or "form energy". The idea is that every shape emits a very specific frequency and energy pattern. Examples of old believes in shape energy are the yantras and mandalas of eastern philosophies, the star of David, the five pointed star (pentagon), the Christian cross, the pyramids and so on. Certain 'powers' are ascribed to the various shapes. Some have 'evil' or negative energies and some 'good' or positive energies, but in YANTRA Yoga only the benefic and harmonious energies are used.
When one focuses on a yantra, his mind is automatically "tuned in" by RESONANCE into the specific form energy of that yantra. The process of RESONANCE is then maintained and amplified. The yantra acts only as a "tune in" mechanism or a doorway. The subtle energy does not come from the yantra itself, but from the MACROCOSM.
Basically yantras are secret keys for establishing RESONANCE with the benefic energies of the MACROCOSM. Very often the yantras can put us in contact with extremely elevated energies and entities, being of invaluable help on the spiritual path.
Puja of Yantras
A Yantra is an instrument, or a talisman or a mystical diagram usually in Copper, Silver, Ashtadhatu, Bhojpatra or on other relegious metals with Silver or Gold Plating. It is a technique or path, considered the simplest and shortest, through which one can attain one's desires, and fulfill one's wishes. It is said that the 'Deities' reside in the Yantras and by performing 'Puja' or worship of Yantras, one can appease them, remove the malefic effects of planets, and increase the flow of positive influences.
As such we do a Primary Puja ( Pran Prathishtha ) of the Yantras that are sent to our valued customers, but we simultaneously recommend that they themselves also perform the following Puja of the Yantra that they have received for getting a maximum benefit.
Procedures to be followed by you for ENERGIZING ( Pran Prathistha ) of Yantra.
- First purify your body and start with a clear and positive mind frame .
- Find a place on the floor facing east, where you will be undisturbed.
- Light the incense or diya. (It does not matter how many you light).
- Lay a fresh flower and a fresh fruit on the altar.
- Open the Yantra and place it along with the image of the deity of yantra and your ISHT God.
- Take the water with any leaf from any tree and sprinkle the water on yourself
- followed by sprinkling the water on the Yantra.
- Close your eyes and concentrate on the deity to bless you with wishes. Now with all
sincerity, ask God to grant you the desire of your life that you wanted to be fulfilled in
your own language.
Now chant the specific BEEJ MANTRA of the YANTRA at least nine times.
